It's been long long time not updating my blog since after I gave birth to my 2nd baby boy. It's another memorable experience to mark down before I miss it.
Basically, my two babies were cooperative with me and came on time the EDD. In fact, I was exhausted when expecting my baby boy especially when approaching to the final month. Everyone was telling me that my tummy is so big and down, baby might come earlier. My husband and I were looking forward to my baby boy would arrive in 2 weeks earlier than EDD. Days after days.... the first question of the day from my husband to me was "Still no contraction?". After that, we continued to work. I was wondering when should be the best time to start my maternity leave. Always alert if any contraction or water leaking during my working hours. Until 19 Nov 2009, I had started my maternity leave.
My 2nd delivery was so similar to my 1st delivery. On 19 Nov, 2am I felt some leaking from bottom, I woke up and ran to toilet and checked there was light bleeding. I told my husband, finally "didi" is coming to this world. But, I didn't feel any contraction and the bleeding is not heavy. Morning, my husband still continue to work and I stayed home alone. I was msn my friend, to check with them about my situation. They advised me should let doctor check. 3pm the same day, I called my husband to come home earlier. Around 5pm, my husband reached home. When I reached hospital, nurse started to setup the equipment to check baby's heart beat. Initially, nurse could not get the heart beat reading, she guessed baby must be sleeping, so she hold my big tummy and shake shake shake. Haha... that was really my first experience to wake up a sleepy baby in my tummy. Followed by Dr Ong, he checked my cervix had opened 1cm. He said that was not consider bleeding. It was just a symptom of mucus dropping off. He arranged to induce for me on 20 Nov, 9am. If I want, he could induce now (19 Nov, 6pm). Opps... but I'm not ready to delivery now. I chose to wait for contraction tonight. If still a peaceful night, then I got to induce the next morning. After that, we went for dinner and shopping with my girl ya. In fact, since after the doctor had checked my cervix, I started to feel uncomfortable. Around 10pm, I felt light contraction and bottom was uncomfortable. We remained calm and went to bed as usual.
20 Nov 2am, I felt contraction. I didn't wake up my husband. I just quietly count the interval. Went to toilet a few times, trying to clear the system. Actually, was the contraction made myself felt like pooing. 4am, the contraction became stronger. I woke up my husband and told him I need to admit now. I faster went for a shower and hair wash before we left home. 5am, I arrived at labour ward. Mid wife checked my cervix, 3 to 4cm. Meanwhile, there was a new mommy giving birth. I was nervous when hear her shouting voice. When she about to push, I quickly went to toilet to clear my system. Until she has delivered baby, then I only came out from toilet and lay on the labour bed. Dr Ong came to me at 5:45am, he checked 7cm. He estimated I could deliver around 7am. 15min later, Dr Ong came to me again, and advise to break my water bag, it would help to deliver earlier. It's really uncomfortable and don't know how to describe the pain when he put his finger in to break the water bag and contraction is ongoing at the same time. So irritating... After he broke the water bag, I felt warm water bursting out. Doctor said baby was poo. Immediately, I felt strong pain in my tummy. The interval is short and fast. About 5min once and 10sec gone. So, I must hold the breath and push harder. I ever missed out 2 to 3 times to push as the contraction pain went off too fast. Finally, my baby boy had came to this world after my 15min push.

My 1st Labour Journey (21 - 22 Nov 2007)
Finally, I've decided to blog down my 1st labour journey before I forget years later. Indeed, I admit that I have bad memory after gave birth to Tze Yuet.
Here is the story... 21 Nov 2007 3am, I suddently felt some fluid came out from my vaginal. I quickily woke up and rushed in to the toilet and checked was it my water bag burst. I realised it's just a little pinkish fluid and not much water came out at once. But, I was still worried as the fluid was leaking bit by bit. I thought it leaked every 1 to 2 hrs intervals. Around 9am, I consulted my gyne Dr. Khor and he checked my cervix wasn't dilating at all. He told me that might be the discharge which can help in the delivery. In the mean time, he arranged me to induce on 23 Nov. In fact, I didn't wish to induce as I heard it would be much more painful than normal labour pain.
Tik..Tok..Tik..Tok..Time was passing... 21 Nov 8pm, When I was having dinner, I felt light contraction on the bottom left of my tummy. I just wondering was that labour pain? I called to ask my dai sou how the labour pain like. She told me it started from bottom part of the tummy but sometime the pain could last for 2 days before delivery. Pain doesn't mean can deliver. For my case, the pinkish fluid leaked at every contraction. It was so uncomfortable.
22 Nov 2am, my contraction was getting stronger than before and 30mins interval. I couldn't sleep but force to. 4am, contraction was much stronger and shorter interval about 5mins once. I thought I was ready to deliver? But, hubby asked me to hold on and relax. He played some relaxing music cd to calm me down. Until 6am, I really cannot stand any more. It's too painful and I wanted to admit to the hospital. The fluid kept leaking at every contraction and I have changed many pads.
6:30am, I admitted to the hospital. Below is conversations between mid-wife (MW) and myself.
MW: When is your EDD?
ME : 22 Nov
MW: Wah.. so accurate ah.. You inform your baby in advanced?
ME : :)
MW: Are u sure is real pain?
ME : I checked already. It's 5mins once.
MW: Ok.. let's go inside. I check for u.
After the checked up, MW told me my cervix just opened 1cm only. I couldn't believed that it just 1cm. So, I asked how long to open 10cm? MW said, long time lor... at least another 6hrs. She asked my hubby to go home rest first. In the meantime, I was told to clear my systems so it's not gonna mess up during the delivery.
"Why the time is so slow?"... I kept looking at the clock. I was alone in the labour room, lying on the bed without anything pain relief but just the baby heart beat mornitoring equipments. The pain was so annoying and couldn't explain how pain it was. Around 7:30am, I requested MW to call my hubby to come. Meanwhile, I asked for epidural. But, the MW told me they don't have pain relief and we are not encouraged to use. Because no pain, we will not know when to push. However, she introduced me to use something that can relief my tireness, make me feel sleepy, but I may feel the contraction pain. I considered a while, maybe it really could help me to relief. Besides that, when my tummy contracted, my hubby massaged my lower back. Massage was my only pain relief and comforted me.
11:30am, I felt my baby is going to come out. Althought I didn't push, I just felt the baby wanted to come out herself. MW said not yet 10cm, hold it and deep breath. Oh no.. I was hold it so tight til my legs were shaking. Hold.. hold... and hold, around 12pm+ MW called Dr. Khor to come. Dr. Khor is a funny guy, he still can tell joke during delivery. He told me it will takes 30mins to deliver the baby. When contract comes then push, otherwise just relax. No screaming...because scream will make me push on the wrong part of my body. I tried a few times but baby was not come out yet and I was exhausted. Dr. Khor applied vacumn to help up the process but I still have to push by myself. A nurse told me just like I push for my constipation, exactly like poo. I followed what nurse said and finally I did it. It was almost 1pm. Hoo... all the pain are gone. Stitches? Deliver placenta? Just a slight pain for me as compared to few hours ago.
In conclusion, waiting with contraction pain for long hours to reach 10cm cervix dilation is the suffer part for me. Delivery stage is consider fast and no pain. It was a real incredible experience.
